  1. Am with you both on the Liebster thing. All someone has to do is devise a logo and a new award system could be up and running. With fewer obligations, it would be more suitable for the lazies, and if it only required the winner to “nominate” one other blogger then it would have some rarity value!

    • I agree – we just need a name. I think ‘The Sam Flowers Award for Blogging Excellence’ certainly merits humble consideration.

  2. I don’t watch as much TV as you. With your blog, reading etc, I don’t know how you find the time. ‘House’ is the only series I watch on a regular basis. And some ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’
On another matter. Some time ago you nominated me for the Liebster Award. I was flattered. And began to think of the blogs I liked. There are many of course. But then my computer got attacked by viruses and after spending a small fortune to get it cleaned up I never got around to fulfilling the requirements of the award. You see, I’m lazy. These awards are a good way to focus the mind, and to publicize all the blogs that we read. But they have that ‘chain mail’ flavor to them which turns me off. Just wanted to fill you in lest you think I was a snob about the whole thing. (Actually I am a snob but that’s on another page.)

    • Some might say David I am busy doing nothing but I say art, play, leisure, call it what you may, is a serious business!

Understood regarding the Liebster Award. You might have noticed that I am now sporting two awards having recently added the Versatile Blogger to my showoff shelf and this of course has nothing to do with the pyramid scheme nature of them and everything to do with the quality of my own blog ;)

I like with these awards that we can honour other blogs and bloggers that we enjoy and admire but am less fond of as noted its pyramid aspect – we are being asked to give more than we receive even if what we are giving is a bit of loving. It would be better if we were required only to nominate one further blog as in passing the baton of approval along. There are afterall other ways we can honour other blogs such as blogrolling them and reposting their posts, even reviewing them. Okay I have rambled on enough.

Your thoughts and feelings always welcome
